We no longer mail membership cards. Your membership card will be held for you at the Newtown Theatre, and you can pick it the next time you attend an event.

If you already have a card from a prior year, bring it with you and we will put a “2024” sticker on it during your next visit.    

The Newtown Theatre does not sell private member information to any outside organizations.

 

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

  • Discounted tickets to concerts, movies, documentaries, family programs, and other special events.

  • NEW: You can now get refunds* on tickets if needed and very-select exchanges*. Our “no refunds/no exchanges” policy remains in place for non-members.

    * Refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before an event. No refunds will be given after an event. Refunds can only be made on member tickets…you cannot be refunded for non-member tickets you purchased. There are no exceptions to these three rules.

    *Exchanges can only be made for the same show. For example, you bought 8:00 Sinatra tickets but now want 3:00 Sinatra tickets. You cannot exchange Sinatra tickets for Beatles tickets.

  • NEW: You can join our members-only Facebook group. To join, visit www.facebook.com/groups/newtowntheatre. Through this group, you’ll get news and announcements about the theatre prior to the general public as well as behind-the-scenes information and special offers that non-members won’t get.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a membership last?

Regardless of the date of purchase, all 2023 memberships are valid from January 1 through December 31, 2023 and expire on January 1, 2024. All 2024 memberships are valid from January 1 through December 31, 2024 and expire on January 1, 2025.

I’m having trouble seeing the full membership form.

We strongly recommend completing the form on a desktop or laptop computer instead of a phone. If you use an iPad or a similar tablet, you should be able to see the full form by turning the device so that it’s in portrait (vertical) mode rather than landscape (horizontal). If you’re using a desktop, laptop or tablet and you’re still having trouble, please contact us.

WheN WILL i RECEIVE MY MEMBERSHIP CARD?

Due to high mailing costs, we no longer mail membership cards. You can pick up your card at the box office while attending any upcoming event. If you already have a card from a prior year, bring it with you and we will put a “2024” sticker on it during your next visit. Note that the theatre is usually not open when there is no event happening

Can I fill out a paper form? Can I pay with a check or cash?

We no longer accept checks or cash for membership payment. This is because we have so many folks to keep track of, and cash or checks do not create an electronic trail we can follow if there is a problem with your payment. All Newtown Theatre memberships must be initiated or renewed on our website. You can pay with a credit card or your PayPal account.

how do i purchase discounted CONCERT tickets?

When you purchase tickets for any upcoming concert, you’ll see a ticket type called “Newtown Theatre Members.” You can use this ticket type to purchase tickets for yourself and the other person/people named on your membership card. Please refrain from purchasing members-only tickets for guests who are not members. Every person who presents a member ticket at the door will be asked to present a valid membership card.

HOW DOES THE FAMILY LEVEL WORK?

This membership level reflects the increased the amount of family-friendly programming at the Newtown Theatre. A Family membership is valid for two adults and up to three young people (under age 18) living in the same household. Each family member receives the same membership benefits. Family membership benefits cannot be extended to friends or family at a different address.

What happens after I purchase a membership?

You’ll receive a receipt via email for your membership. The next time you’re at the theatre for an event, you’ll be able to pick up your 2024 membership card. If you already have a card, bring it with you and we will put a “2024” sticker on it during your next visit. Remember you’ll need to show your card to our staff every time you use your membership benefits at the theatre or when presenting members-only tickets.

How do I give someone a gift membership?

We do not offer gift memberships.

I lost my membership card.

Contact us and let us know the name(s) on your membership, and we’ll produce a replacement card.

How will I know when it's time to renew?

We will send you a reminder email at the email address you give us when you register.  

Is my membership tax-deductible?

Yes, all memberships are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

I am a subscriber to the Newtown Arts Company. Does that mean I have a Newtown Theatre membership?

The Newtown Arts Company puts on numerous musicals and plays each year at the Newtown Theatre but is a separate entity from the Newtown Theatre itself.

Members of the Newtown Theatre receive free popcorn at all Newtown Arts Company shows, but Newtown Arts Company subscriptions are not connected to the Newtown Theatre membership program in any way.
