The Movie Club pick for October is Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956).
Each Movie Club film is introduced by Emmy Award winner and film historian Joe Amodei, President/CEO of Virgil Films & Entertainment. After the movie, Amodei will be joined by David Rubinsohn, Director of Syndication and Pledge Programming for American Public Televsion, which distributes programming to more than 340 PBS stations. If David looks familiar it’s because he used to work on the air at WHYY Channcel 12 in Philadelphia (support public TV and radio!). Joe and David will will discuss the film with participation from the audience.

Synopsis
In Santa Mira, California, Dr. Miles Bennell (Kevin McCarthy) is baffled when all his patients come to him with the same complaint: their loved ones seem to have been replaced by emotionless impostors. Despite others' dismissive denials, Dr. Bennell, his former girlfriend Becky (Dana Wynter) and his friend Jack (King Donovan) soon discover that the patients' suspicions are true: an alien species of human duplicates, grown from plant-like pods, is taking over the small town.

Doors open at 7 PM and the event starts at 7:30 PM.
Seating is first come, first served. We recommend arriving early if you would like to secure your favorite seats.
Beer, wine and canned cocktails will be available for purchase at the theatre before and during the event.
Free parking is available along North State Street, in the municipal lot between Washington and Centre Avenue, and in the municipal lot next to Newtown Borough Hall (23 North State Street).
We have a wheelchair lift on our front porch and an accessible restroom on the first floor. There are no steps to climb to access the first floor of the auditorium. There are steps to the balcony.
