Newtown Black & White Dinner

  • The Newtown Theatre 120 North State Street Newtown, PA 18940 (map)

You’re invited to dinner! On Saturday, September 10, hundreds of black-and-white clad diners will gather on North State Street in Newtown Borough for a chic, one-of-a-kind alfresco picnic held in the middle of the street.

All proceeds from the Newtown Black & White Dinner benefit the historic Newtown Theatre.

Dress

To celebrate the elegance of old Hollywood, dinner guests are asked to dress only in black and white for this event. Creativity is encouraged and formal wear is absolutely not required – as long as it's black and white, the sky's the limit!

Prizes will be awarded after dinner to the Best Dressed Man, Best Dressed Woman, and Best Dressed Group.

Decorate

When you arrive to the Newtown Black & White Dinner at 5:30 PM, you'll find a communal table draped in white linens stretching down North State Street.

You're welcome to decorate your place at the table with black and white décor. Decorations may be elegant, whimsical, movie-themed, theatre-inspired—it's up to you!

Prizes will be awarded to those with the Most Elegant Décor and Most Creative Décor.

While you decorate your place at the table, you can mingle, enjoy live jazz music, and prepare for dinner, which begins at 6:30 PM.

Dine

This year, diners can choose to pre-order dinner prepared by event sponsor Just Food for an additional charge. Dinners will be waiting for you at the event and are all served cold. Options are:

  • Grilled salmon served over rice pilaf with grilled asparagus

  • Spanish rice stuffed peppers (vegetarian)

  • Individual charcuterie & antipasto box

Special black and white ice cream desserts will be served to all diners from an old-fashioned pushcart.
