Newtown Black & White Dinner

Saturday, September 9 • 5:30 PM

A one-of-a-kind fundraiser for the historic Newtown Theatre

You’re invited to dinner! On Saturday, September 9, up to 800 black-and-white clad diners will gather on North State Street in Newtown Borough for a chic, one-of-a-kind alfresco picnic held in the middle of the street.

This year’s event is sponsored by Playa Bowls in Newtown, Anthony Paul Pinto of Bucks RE/MAX Properties, Timothy Andrews, Newtown Ice House, and Just Food prepared food and custom catering in Buckingham.

All proceeds from the Newtown Black & White Dinner benefit the historic Newtown Theatre.

Dress

To celebrate the elegance of old Hollywood, dinner guests are asked to dress only in black and white for this event. Creativity is encouraged and formal wear is absolutely not required – as long as it's black and white, the sky's the limit!

Prizes will be awarded after dinner to the Best Dressed Man, Best Dressed Woman, Best Dressed Group, Most Elegant Decor, and Most Creative Decor.

Decorate

When you arrive to the Newtown Black & White Dinner at 5:30 PM, you'll find a communal table draped in white linens stretching down North State Street.

You're welcome to decorate your place at the table with black and white décor. Decorations may be elegant, whimsical, movie-themed, theatre-inspired—it's up to you!

Prizes will be awarded to those with the Most Elegant Décor and Most Creative Décor.

While you decorate your place at the table, you can mingle, enjoy live jazz music, and prepare for dinner, which begins at 6:30 PM.

You can bring your own picnic dinner or pre-order a meal. No matter what you choose, you’ll also need to bring flatware and glasses, non-alcoholic beverages, desserts, and any decorations you'd like for your place at the table.

Pre-made meals from Just Food include the following options:

  • Chilled, sliced filet mignon on a brioche bun with horsey aioli and house-made chips

  • Blackened salmon over sesame jasmine rice with grilled asparagus

  • Spanish rice stuffed pepper served with a side of roasted corn salad (vegan)

  • A hearty salad of baby lettuces with cornbread crumbles, roasted Vidalia onions, raspberry vinaigrette, and artisan crackers (vegan)

All entrees are served cold and will be available for pick-up at the event.
